Heritage Tourism
As you travel historic Route 66 through New Mexico, you will encounter a number of properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These are properties recognized by the National Park Service as properties deemed significant in American history, architecture, archaeology, engineering, and culture. Many of these properties are overlooked by the casual tourist but have a place in Route 66 history. Search the internet for the stories and photos of these special places and take yourself back in time to a different experience. - Drake Hotel – Gallup, New Mexico, 216 E. 66 Ave. Offices. Listed 1988
- El Campo Tourist Courts – Albuquerque, New Mexico, 5800 Central Ave. SW. Currently Apartments. Listed 1994
- El Rancho Hotel – Gallup, New Mexico, 1000 E Hwy 66. Active Hotel. Listed 1988
- El Vado Auto Court – Albuquerque, New Mexico, 2500 Central Ave SW. Active Motel. Listed 1993
- Glenrio Historic District – Glenrio, New Mexico. Mostly Abandoned. Listed 2007
